The twin challenges of unemployment and insecurity are intertwined. With so many unemployed youth in the community, including graduates, there is surely a point of concern. As a solution, taking full cognizance of these challenges, the Board of Directors at MKU, established the Graduate Enterprise Academy where a total of Ksh 40 million (USD 400,000 - Four hundred thousand) has been committed to be spent in 5 years from 2014 to 2019 to assist graduates create enterprises and accelerate their businesses and be job creators rather than job seekers. So far, we have trained graduates who have businesses at various parts of the country and arrangements are underway to scale up this youth unemployment mitigation country-wide, region-wide and even throughout the African Continent in collaboration with different partners. This is an effort that is second to non-other; and is a mission of MKU that is accomplished at the Graduate Enterprise Academy where we identify, nurture and mature graduate entrepreneurs across Africa.
